Each time our TV screens fill with scenes of panic and chaos brought on by some horrible incident such as a terrorist attack on innocent people, or senseless murders on the street, quite naturally we begin to hear calls for more laws, elimination of certain constitutional rights, and greater efforts to curb such outrageous deeds brought on because we don’t have enough regulations, too many rights, and not enough good police involvement in our everyday lives. Some even proposeĀ that we have more compassion for criminals who commit their crimes out of anger because they’re not being given all the things they feel they should have.

Their reasoning is this: that with the right amount of mental conditioning, psychological influence, positive social reinforcement, and more government regulations, society as a whole, and individually, will evolve and progress toward a more perfect, controllable civic union that will eliminate these insane acts of violence.

It is time to face reality. Because of sin, mankind is destined and doomed to be sinful, evil, and influenced by demonic powers. No amount of education or regulation can purge man’s soul of this these forces. The more laws that are put into effect the more man’s sinful nature resists and seeks ways to get around such laws.

The solution to these problems can only be found in the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; the cleansing effect of His blood to wash away sin; the transformation of the heart and mind through the work of the Holy Spirit, which causes the old things to pass away and all things to become new. The love of God is what transforms individuals and societies. The Prince of Peace living in men’s hearts will go a long way in curbing such violence. The Bible tells us, where sin abounds, God’s grace abounds even more! – Dr. Robert R Seyda
