During this intense season of political discourse, I’m reminded of something one of America’s most talkative yet lovable politicians named Hubert Horatio Humphrey (1911-1978), senator and Vice President of the United States (1965-1969), once said: “The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.” I guess the only ones that can take seriously are those whose words are confirmed by their actions. Not by what they will do, but by what they have already done.
