IMPORTANT UPDATE ON NEW TESTAMENT CONTEXTUAL COMMENTARY

Beginnning on Monday we will begin to explore Chapter 17 of Matthew’s Gospel. The disciples will witness the most glorious transformations of Jesus right before their eyes. What does it mean? What lessons should they learn from with they’ve just seen? How does it affect their view of Jesus as the Messiah?

But, before the glare of His glory is gone from their eyes they will also witness as the divine world and the Satanic world collide in a spectacular display of God’s power. Yet, it wasn’t the power they were looking for. So Jesus had a long road ahead of Him.

Then, an incident takes place that gives Jesus the opportunity to help them better understand their responsibilities as citizens of an earthly kingdom and their obligations as citizens of God’s kingdom. But instead of this causing them to rejoice, it ends up causing a controversy that almost rips the unity of the disciples apart.
