POINTS TO PONDER!

After his science class, one young student asked another student he met in the hallway: “How much dirt is there in a hole that measures two feet wide, three feet long, and four feet deep?” The student who was asked said he’d figure it out and let him know the answer. However, that student never came back. Maybe you can figure it out. But the main point here is that what one conceives in their mind may not be what actually exists in reality. So often we make the same mistake with our idea of what should or should not be according to our calculations. Sometimes we may often be heard saying: “They should have more love,” or “They should have less fear and apprehension,” or “They should have more courage,” or “They should have less pride.” You see, just like the dirt in that hole, these are abstract things. According to the dictionary, they are described as: “Thoughts apart from concrete realities, specific objects, or actual instances.” Also, the dictionary says that: “This is a way of expressing a quality or characteristic apart from any specific object or instance, such as justice, poverty, and speed.” The things we face in life everyday are real and tangible, that’s why we must adapt and cope with them on a factual basis. Too often we are caught dreaming about what could have been, or should have been, instead of dealing with what is.

PS: Did you find the answer to the question?
