The next time someone tells you, especially your pastor, that Jonah was swallowed by a whale, please discreetly let them know they are incorrect. First of all, the Bible doesn’t call it a whale, but a huge fish. Also, it couldn’t have been a whale because whales are not fish. Whales are warm blooded, which means they keep a high body temperature that does not change in the cold water. Fish are cold-blooded, so their body temperature changes depending on the temperature of their environment. Whales actually breathe air with lungs using their blowholes to breath out! Whales are mammals! It’s always best to know what the Bible really says so when you do quote it, you quote it correctly. If God’s words calls something an abomination, then it’s an abomination, not a matter of personal choice or preference, or a wrong that you have somehow made right.
