SERENDIPITY FOR SATURDAY

On the Tonight Show, comedian Johnny Carson used to have a segment called, “Carnac the Magnificent,” and now Jimmy Fallon has, “Celebrity Tweets,” where they give the answer before revealing the question. The answer part often does not make sense until the question is given. We find a similar thing in the Scriptures. The apostle Paul was encouraging the Christians in Rome in response to their times of hardship and persecution. Paul certainly knew what it was like to be tortured and jailed by opposition forces. He talks about his own suffering, hardship, and weaknesses. So this raised the question: can death or life, angels or demons, present or future hardships, or any powers, or heights or depths, or anything else in all creation, be able to separate them from the love of God they received through their Lord Jesus Christ? Paul’s answer: “If God be for us, who can be against us!” It’s not that we won’t have troubles or persecution or opposition, it’s just that none of it can cancel or make void God’s love for us. You can certainly believe without doubt, when ever thing else fails, His lovingkindness is secure and will last for eternity.
