There is a difference between being surprised when one is healed by the power of God, and being surprised that one can be healed by the power of God. In the first case, faith is heeded, while in the second case, faith is needed. How can faith be acquired? Paul said that faith came by hearing, and what one needed to hear was the Word of God. So we must not try and separate the two. Jesus said over and over, “Thy faith hath made thee whole.” Where did that faith come from? By hearing about Jesus and what He was able to do. So the next time someone asks you to pray for their healing, ask them if they have faith in what they’ve heard about the Healer. – Dr. Robert R Seyda
